Another water contamination even in San Francisco Bay. The poor bay just can’t get a break, can it?

I mean really, all they do is chew on trees and dam-up the streams where-ever they go, those varmints! Oh, wait, they’re BEAVERS, that’s their job. It’s pretty pathetic when you aren’t allowed to exist because you cause humans too much inconvenience and bother. I think we homo sapiens need to get our brains wrapped around the idea that we aren’t the most important beings on the planet, that we can and should rearrange our lives to accommodate the vast diversity of flora and fauna on this world, or face the ugly consequences of a barren, humans-only desert.

It seems that a surfer was doing his thing at Marina State Beach, near Monterey, California, when a great white shark came along and decided he would do for the next meal. It is quite possible that, had a pod of dolphins not encircled the surfer after the attack, he would have eventually fallen prey to the shark. Instead, they protected him while he paddled back to shore, badly hurt and bleeding profusely, but still alive. I really love dolphins. Such amazing creatures, and people still eat them, and kill them in fish nets. I wonder why they saved this being, a non-dolphin? To be sure, if humans had been in a similar situation, and a dolphin needed saving, we would have allowed ‘nature‘ to take its course and the dolphin would have been dinner for the shark.

It is common knowledge that the marine environments of the world are under serious attack from human civilization. This absolutely needs to stop, no question, or we face wiping out the biggest biozone on the planet, and that includes the fisheries. Read on for one example of how we can prevent marine collapse from happening.
