Yes, it might seem like I’m using redundant adjectives in the blog title, but I’m not, since the subject of the following link is really about astronomy. This is a nice little article detailing some of the upcoming telescope projects in the works around the world. It really is amazing what astronomers have accomplished in the past twenty years, and what they are likely to accomplish in the next just leaves me breathless. Anyway, just a nice little pick-me-up on Super Tuesday. Oh yea, and, HAPPY MARDI GRAS! Laissez le bon temps roulez!

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackQuite a nice article summarizing the various telescope projects proposed to be completed in the next decade. Several decades ago, the Mt Palomar telescope with its 200 inch mirror seemed unbelievably large..now the Europeans are discussing building a telescope with a 132 foot mirror! I guess the Hubble will become obsolete soon…or does it still have an advantage in the IR since it doesn’t have to deal with absorption in the atmosphere?
